Opening in January 2017, Ard Rí is located in a quiet, leafy neighbourhood on the outskirts of Cashel. The property sits back from the road on mature, beautifully landscaped gardens, with a spacious outdoor living area to the rear, affording our residents a great degree of privacy and security.
‘Ard Rí’ offers a high support transitional living service for young adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder and/or Intellectual Disability.
With the majority of young adults with ASD continuing to live at home with their parents, there is an increasing need for Transitional Residential Services in Ireland. Ours are specialised for those seeking a bridge from childhood to adult services. The focus is on teaching intensive life skills, as well as building effective communication, behavioural and social supports, with a view towards supported living as an adult within their own community.
Our Cork residential facility is located in the rolling countryside of County Cork, close to the bustling town of Fermoy.
Perched on a hilltop, it enjoys panoramic views of the Cork hinterland and benefits from large secure gardens, front and rear. A sensory-rich environment, the focus in this home is on providing young residents with Intellectual Disability and/or Autistic Spectrum Disorder with the means to communicate more effectively, thereby reducing any related stresses and enabling them to channel their individual creativity.
At ‘Ard na Gaoithe’, the staff team places an emphasis on a proactive over a reactive approach to the care of the residents, in relation to behaviours that challenge.
The first Resilience Care home to open its doors in 2014, ‘Pebble Beach’ is now a well-established residential care facility for young people up to 18 years of age with Autism Spectrum Disorder and/or Intellectual Disability. Situated in one of the most beautiful landscapes of Ireland at the gateway to the Dingle Peninsula, it lies just a few kilometres from Tralee with access to a wide range of services and activities. With the backdrop of the Derrymore Hills, and facing Tralee Bay, the home’s environs are a sensorial experience in themselves.
Our care staff at ‘Pebble Beach’ concentrate on building basic life skills, establishing effective conduits for communication, and creating desensitisation programmes in order to eliminate environmental triggers for challenging episodes.
